Statement: Enrollment in this class requires that you first purchase and complete the steps for the required eBook. Next step: Please ensure you have purchased and completed the prerequisite eBook class. Once the prerequisite is marked as complete, you will be able to enroll in this class. About this course: This course will update the Technician's knowledge and understanding of modern-day diesel vehicles. It covers the theory, operation, and diagnostic processes of diesel engines. Additionally, the course provides an in-depth knowledge of new technologies that lower emissions through a new generation of aftertreatment emission control systems. Subjects covered include: 1. Identify the components of the exhaust and after-treatment systems. 2. Describe the function of each after-treatment system. 3. Explain the differences between active and passive regeneration. 4. Explain how temperature sensors are used to monitor component operation. 5. Describe the diesel exhaust fluid's (DEF) function in the selective catalyst reduction (SCR) system. |
