About This Course

Modern vehicle diagnosis has become increasingly complex due to advanced electronic systems, CAN network communication, and rapidly evolving engine management technologies. This course is designed to help students develop both the knowledge and diagnostic skills necessary to diagnose and repair modern vehicle systems that many technicians find difficult to troubleshoot.

Students will gain an understanding of critical systems such as CAN network communication, electronic throttle control systems, variable valve timing systems, gasoline direct-injection systems, and wide-band air-fuel ratio sensor operation. Each chapter explains the theory and operation of the system while also presenting real-world diagnostic strategies designed to improve troubleshooting accuracy and efficiency.

This course may help students strengthen the foundational knowledge necessary to prepare for ASE engine performance and advanced drivability-related certification testing. However, successful completion of this course alone does not guarantee passing any ASE certification examination.

The instructor has over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and serves as both a technical advisor and automotive instructor. Each chapter includes a full video presentation along with assessments designed to reinforce student learning. At the conclusion of the course, students must complete a final assessment with a passing score of 70% or higher to receive proof of completion.

Please note that course materials cannot be fast-forwarded, and all lecture videos must be viewed in their entirety.
